I totally agree, Leanna. Sometimes the sound of quiet is so calming. I think all the noise around us contributes a lot to the nervousness and anxiety many of us suffer from. Turn it all off and be quiet with the Lord. I know that I am very sensitive to sound and it affects my migraines.

For a long time when I was working, the environment was very tough. You never knew who was "stabbing you in the back". Many rumors went around. I posted Phil. 4:8 on my desk wall and referred to it many times.

Also, a big help was "Be still and know that I am God"....I think remembering and applying that verse gives us more peace than anything else. When we know that God is in control, it gives us respite from constantly being concerned and trying to fix things. I have to turn most things over to Him, as most of my "concerns" are big things which I cannot change.

Along with turning the noise off, sitting quietly with God, comes this verse: Phil 4:7 "And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus."

Your blog today is very insightful, wise and uplifting.
