“There is a thin line that separates laughter and pain, comedy and tragedy, humor and hurt.” –Erma Bombeck

This is the line I explore in my novels as I peer into the human heart. We all experience difficult and painful seasons in our lives, but Proverbs 17:22 says, “A joyful heart is good medicine…”

May you find a healthy dose here and in my books.

“A motive in the human heart is like deep water, and a person who has understanding draws it out.” Proverbs 20:5

Welcome to my website or as I like to think of it—my back porch, where we can sit and talk about books, gaze at beautiful scenery, chat about life and love, swap recipes, and explore topics of inspiration. Khalil Gibran said, “When you are joyous, look deep into your heart and you shall find it is only that which has given you sorrow that is giving you joy. When you are sorrowful look again in your heart, and you shall see that in truth you are weeping for that which has been your delight.” Walking alone, in my experience, makes life’s journey steeper and more difficult. Family and friends lighten the load, making the music of our lives sweeter, the smiles brighter, and our days more delightful.

Let me pour you some hot tea…or a big glass of sweet tea. Kick off your shoes and make yourself at home. Let’s share our hearts and search for rays of sunshine and truth. Be sure to come back as often as you like!
